WaitLess is a patient empowerment application designed to assist individuals in making informed decisions regarding urgent medical care, with a focus on minimizing unnecessary visits to crowded Accident & Emergency (A&E) departments.

The application enables users to identify the quickest route to receive care for non-life-threatening emergencies by providing consolidated live waiting times for Minor Injury Units (MIUs), Urgent Treatment Centres (UTCs), Walk-In Centres (WICs), and Emergency Departments (EDs), along with indicative travel time information for all urgent care facilities in a given locality.

Before proceeding to use WaitLess, patients have the option to call emergency services via 999 or access the NHS 111 service through its web application.

WaitLess includes features that clearly display the number of patients currently waiting at treatment centers, the wait time for the longest waiting patient, and travel time information across various modes of transport. The app ranks each facility based on the fastest expected treatment times.

With a single click, users can geo-locate their position and redirect to Google Maps for live navigation and travel routes to their chosen facility.

Furthermore, the app offers comprehensive information on each treatment center, including operating hours, available treatments, parking facilities, and accessibility features.

In addition, WaitLess provides a directory of local pharmacies, allowing easy access to details such as services offered, opening hours, addresses, contact numbers, and directions via Google Maps.

By guiding patients toward alternate care locations, WaitLess aims to facilitate quicker access to necessary treatment while helping to alleviate pressure on busy A&E departments. It ultimately supports the NHS by ensuring that emergency resources are available for those in critical need.
